| Island Peak Expedition | ||
This classic expedition is perhaps one of the most famous in the World. We trek up wooded valleys and bare mountain sides on route to the most inspiring view points of Mount Everest at 5500m before trekking to Base camp at the very foot of Everest. Island Peak is then a tackled by it's classic ridge route and inspiring views of 8000m Lhotse. Along this trekking route you will be fully immersed in the heart of Nepal with towering 8000m Peaks surrounding the trail as well as the Sherpa culture through which we travel. This trip draws on experience to provide an ideal itinerary and leadership package to suit a range of aspirations and abilities from someone who is new to trekking through to an experienced Climber wanting a solid introduction to high altitude Mountaineering in the greater ranges. Itinerary The Expedition duration is 23 days which allows for an enjoyable, safe trek for all as well as a high success rate. We incorporate extra days into the itinerary to allow for bad weather and any acclimatization problems so as to ensure the best chances of summit success. Support It is led by Ben Bradford who has led many different High Altitude trips to Nepal , Tibet and Africa. We are supported on our trip by our Nepalese Sirdar, Porters and Climbing Sherpas who we have used on previous expeditions to the Kumbu valley. Training Weekend Ben will run a training weekend in Devon during September to allow clients to meet other members of the team and review technical aspects of the expedition as well as answering all your questions. |
